Valuegraphics + Intentional Event Design Episode 1

David Allison has always been someone whose sheer enthusiasm for living life, marketing, sustainability and humanity brings me joy. Having the opportunity to sit down for a few hours and deep dive into how values thinking impacts how we approach our communities – well you will hear how much fun we had while also leaving with applicable ideas. How can we use values we all hold to create more collective good in our cities, organizations and ultimately the whole world?
Check out this first in the series to understand the background of Valuegraphics, a dataset comprised of 500,000 surveys with more than 400 data points from 180countries. This is not demographics, it is not about stereotyping our markets or audiences, but about understanding core values. When we know what really matters to people, we can create services and events that matter to them.
In my role with SITE global, we work diligently at building a global community for incentive travel professionals. When we apply a values filter, so much more relevant than the standard demographic or even psychographic information we typically have applied in designing events – we can truly develop meaningful experiences. Looking at the most common values shared across our industry, by country or continent, and globally was eye-opening.
We all have a target audience – a membership, clients, colleagues among those we want to influence. When we understand what is important, from security to relationships, experiences to spirituality, and 52 other values (!) we can deliver more effectively to these needs. We can also use our understanding of these values to hire the best people for our organizations to best serve the needs of our clients.
If we were more aware that we share core values that go well beyond our skin colour, gender, sexual preferences as examples of exterior assumption drivers, the world would be a place that would require less rising up against, and more rising up together.
It makes sense. Join us and learn more.
