Our KPI is Joy – launching March 21

So it begins, literally. We are in a globally challenging environment for meetings and events. This book was written before our industry faced the uncertainty it is in today, and I believe you will find this insightful journey of events historic and present insightful and inspiring, something we need today.
Radical connections are the superpower of events.
Intentionally designed events catalyze happiness and productivity. An event goal that may seem impossible to measure, just as it may seem impossible to measure global happiness, but the United Nations works with Gallup to do exactly this.
The UN’s results show that in our post-pandemic world we have a global mental health crisis. Loneliness was at an all-time high during the global lockdown and continues to be a challenge. As we removed the barriers of social distancing and masks, we embarked on a global re-socialization, fueled by travel and events.
Today we’ve fast-forwarded into the experience economy and what better tool than live events to showcase unique styles of leadership, embrace shared culture and deliver content in context? For everyone from association leaders to brand marketers, events can amplify positive memories based on authentic connections to a brand and its people. Immersive design and transformative events are helping to drive forward human experience and are actively sought out around the globe.
Common threads of learning, connection, play and entertainment anchor human experience from events throughout history to our most modern challenges. I invite you to join me on a romp through decades of designing events, lived experiences and the impacts delivered, along with insights and design tips and tools to try.
Experienced event professionals will discover nudges and challenges, and those newer to this incredible vocation will better understand their role and the power of events to strengthen individuals and to grow more productive and innovative organizations.
We will celebrate where we live, meet, share experiences and host events, and consider the potential and the possibilities when we measure for a metric best served by face-to-face events—joy.
Together we are the goosebump creators.
