Kevin is commitment. To his family, to his work at Azamara, to the SITE Foundation, and to getting healthy. This year Kevin has taken on the role of VP Finance for the SITE Foundation, and what a ride it has been for anyone, and a big role for a volunteer member particularly during a time like this! It truly is the balance of serving our industry and making sensible decisions to keep going forward.

Kevin has spent a long time in the cruise industry, and it is arguably the hardest hit in the entire travel sector at this time. A combination of the strictest regulations for reporting on passenger safety combined with challenging conditions forced by the rapid spread of what was an unknown virus combined with a media thirsty to find the stories that will grip readers have combined in a perfect storm to wreak havoc.  In all of this Kevin has stayed informed and informative, and we appreciate the openness, including joining us for a SITE global webinar on Health Security in April which looks at the realities head on.

In addition to all this work, Kevin has been on a serious journey to improve his own health. At our Global conference this year, Kevin shared his journey as he works one day at a time to lose fifty pounds. No matter what the final number is – and it is a lot – it has been about making better choices with more exercise and nutritious, delicious food options – no shortcuts. The secret he tells us is sparkling water! How he literally weighs in is by filling a backpack with the weight lost, and when it creeps up a little – as we all know it can, he puts that pack on front-first, where men carry their weight, and walks around with it to remind himself how hard carrying that extra weight is on his body. Smart, and committed. The next time you see Kevin, pull up a chair and get ready to eat and drink and talk, or maybe head out for a walk and a chat, because you can!
