Looking up to Kevin

When I joined SITE and headed first to our 2019 Global Conference there were many people to meet and remember and with clues given, I was told Kevin Edmunds would be easy to spot, at over 2m tall. What has stood out to me since this time is not his height, but his presence, joy for life and family, and an understanding of the power of travel.

Kevin is a true hotel sales professional, committed to not just AIC Hotels but to the destinations they are in. Kevin started as a SITE Young Leader, helped to grow this iniiative including now our partnership with AIC Hotels as the Presenting Sponsor of the annual SITEYL conference. Kevin has proven a true leader on our board where he takes his volunteer roles from past VP of Education to current VP Finance and Business Development seriously. He brings terrific insight into this industry we all share, and his commitment across destinations and sectors, and to the next generation of incentive travel professionals is admirable and appreciated.

We had the pleasure of being hosted at Kevin and Karla’s home last summer (and you can see his joy in hosting above), and it is here where you see the pride in his family and the endless smiles their precocious children bring. At our 2020 Global conference Kevin became a SITE Storyteller and shared their story of building this family, and showed a vulnerability that comes from strength and love, and trust in the support of his wife and his SITE Family in the audience. From bringing us to tears, to sharing some great experiences and conversations over the past year, I can only tell you, this is someone you also want to get to know better, so the next time you see him, reach up for your elbow bump and ask an extra question.
