Delightful Aoife Delaney

An easy smile, a peaceful heart, a drive to bring others along with her to be successful, find joy and bring experiences alive. These might be some of the first characteristics you notice when you meet Aoife. Then you will find the substance of this smart and yes, delightful human. She has been the recipient of a good number of industry awards, but her favorite title is ‘mom’. Family is key to who she is, her immediate family, her own family, her extended and work families, all matter. As a yoga instructor, she brings this peace, joy and mindfulness to many others, most recently as we have all been doing, on Zoom Yoga for their extended and extensive DMC Network. I have had the pleasure of doing this on a beach in California and seeing her lead this in Vancouver at our Global conference, so if you ever have the opportunity to Yoga with Aoife – take it!

For many years now, Aoife has worked tirelessly in what I consider to be both a critical and often undervalued sector in MICE – the DMC. If you are planning an incentive program that needs to be high-quality, offer surprising local delights and authentic experiences that offer transformative insights to the best and brightest in any organization – well, these do not come from any amount of Google searches for “incentive experience.” These come from working with strong DMC partners and these commiteed people inspiring trusted partners who already understand the high expectations that are coming to your destination. Marry this with an intimate understanding of the environment (culture, history, people and logistics) you are an expert in, and then relying with trust and open communication that they are using their own knowledge and experience to bring alive memorable moments for your guests. Yes, it is hard, and yes, she has stayed true to this path for enough time to be an expert.

I am excited that Aoife will be our SITE President in 2021, and that Dublin, her hometown, will host our SITE Global Conference in this same year. Join us, it will be a return-to-incentives unlike any other.
